The local community has rallied around to show their support for the Heartly Green Care Home on Cutnook Lane in Irlam during the coronavirus lock-down.
The David Pennington Charity donated £300 to enable the home to purchase ten individual tables for residents. There have been further donations of much needed tables and new cups from the local community and a former resident.
A spokesperson for the home said, “Having these individual tables allows the residents to not only eat their meals safely but also to take part in social events such as bingo, whilst maintaining the social distancing rules to keep safe. Thank you to everyone who has supported us during these difficult times.”
Angela Pennington from the David Pennington Charity added, “We were delighted to help Heartly Green with a donation to keep their residents safe during the pandemic. The community spirit in Irlam and Cadishead is second to none, well done everyone.”
Care staff at Heartly Green have also received a donation of ten headbands for staff to use. That were donated by Tiny Taylor’s Keepsakes, whose owners Nan, Pat Austin, is a resident at the home.
The headbands have button on each side for the mask to pop over and prevent rubbing on the ears. Again, much appreciated and thank you from the staff, who are all doing a magnificent job.
