The Tiger Moth Pub is set to reopen this Saturday 4th July and Seamus and Eileen McCallion are looking forward to welcoming back their fantastic staff and customers old and new.
The ‘Tiger’ has always been at the centre of the community and has been sadly missed over the last few months, whilst closed because of the COVID-19 issues and in-line with government guidelines.
Seamus and Eileen have not been idle during the ‘lock-down’ and have used the time to totally revamp the vault at the popular pub and the refurbished gents toilets are now well worth a visit!
The vault (pictured) now has a modern and pleasing look, with new seating, new flooring and a brilliant grey and black paint scheme. Eileen said, “We have been working hard during ‘lock-down’ to give something back to our customers when we re-open. Seamus and I would like to thank Daz for all his hard work, Dean for the decorating help, Ian for all his kindness and help and Paul from Irlam Carpets for all his support, along with all our staff, family, neighbours and friends for all their welcome help, thank you.”
The ‘Tiger’ will initially be re-opening on a limited daily hours basis, starting this Saturday from 12 noon and closing at 11pm in the evening.
In-line with government advice social distancing and a one-way system will be in operation and there will be no seating or standing allowed at the bar, with hand sanitiser stations in place. The ‘Tiger’ will also not be allowing children in at any-time, with a strict over 18’s only policy in place for the time being.
In what is a first for the Tiger, they have been allowed to put in place outdoor seating on the square, with tables and chairs available for the Tiger customers to enjoy a drink in the fresh air whilst responsibly distancing. The pub beer garden will also be open to make as much use of the outdoor space available.
Local Pubs are the bedrock of any community so come on down to the Tiger for a welcome drink or two and support your local pubs. We have already lost around ten pubs and clubs from around the district and without support from the community that number will sadly be added to. Cheers!
